Packing
Headstart Nursery ships plug and liner trays in specially-designed corrugated boxes with cardboard inserts. Our boxes are 18" wide by 12" deep and 22" high. The typical box weight is 23-28 pounds.
Although the number of trays packed per box can vary depending on the crop, the chart below shows the typical number of trays packed per box:
Delivery
Headstart Nursery can ship anywhere in the United States. We typically ship twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays.
All prices are FOB Gilroy, California. Freight is prepaid and billed to the customer unless otherwise requested by the Broker. We always try to find the most economical shipping method and pass those cost savings on to our customers.
Headstart Nursery works with the following common carriers:
Local truck delivery (in boxes or on custom shipping racks) is also available. Deliveries must be scheduled in advance. Please note that all freight costs are subject to change, and freight fuel surcharges may apply. Some carriers require a minimum number of boxes. Please contact us for additional shipping options or for special requirements like phytosanitary certificates.
Customer Pick-Up
Orders may be picked up at Headstart Nursery any time Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Orders not picked up by 4:00 pm on Friday will be unpacked. Pickup must be rescheduled, and a restocking fee will be added to the order. For directions to our main office in Gilroy, see map.
