Ordering and Delivery
Plant Information
All of Headstart Nursery's poinsettias feature deep red bracts with dark green foliage. Plants are grown in 6½ inch pots with festive red pot covers and are individually sleeved for protection during shipment.
Prices & Ordering
Poinsettia prices for 2010 have not yet been determined. In 2009, each plant sold for $6.00; each case of 6 plants was $36.00. We do not charge sales tax, and there is no minimum order. We also have special non-profit rates for holiday fundraisers. Payment is due upon delivery or pick-up. Checks should be made payable to Headstart Nursery.
Poinsettias are generally available beginning the week after Thanksgiving, but we begin accepting orders as early as September. We only grow limited quantities, so it is very important that you get your order in early. If we do sell out, orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. All orders are subject to availability.
Order forms and additional information for 2010 Poinsettias will be posted to our website in September.
Delivery
If you order three or more cases and live in Gilroy or surrounding communities, we can deliver your plants for free. Most orders to Gilroy, Morgan Hill or San Martin can be delivered Monday through Friday. Deliveries to Hollister or San Juan Bautista are scheduled for Wednesdays or Fridays only. Deliveries outside these areas may also be arranged but are subject to a delivery charge.
Delivery times must be scheduled in advance and are subject to change. Please be sure someone is available to help unload your order.
Customer Pick-Up
Orders of less than three cases can be picked up Monday through Friday, between 10:00 and 5:00, at the Headstart Nursery shipping office. You must schedule your pickup at least 24 hours in advance.
Poinsettias may be picked up at 4860 Monterey Road in Gilroy, California. The Headstart Nursery office is located south of Gilroy, on the northbound side of Highway 101 just behind the Garlic World fruit stand. For directions, see map.
